Friends,

I noticed the IRS cashed my check and heard from my Mom about her birthday card, so things are feeling ~pretty~ efficient over here. While I’m still riding the high of this accomplishment, I sense that playing catch-up will go on for a bit longer.

Hard to stay focused, hard to be dialed in every single day, but you’re doing it. You’re doing it over and over again, some days bumpier than others, and closing out each week feels pretty good. The beginnings of this fall have felt the most like 2019 since the pandemic, and so if it seems unreasonable to take the pedal off the gas, don’t! but also prioritize rest. You are likely processing an enormous amount of information, so when you’re off, be off. This is the time to establish that boundary if you’ve been flexible.

A bit of housekeeping: I’m removing the Books section from this newsletter and will instead offer a lengthier list at the end of each month. Honestly, I can’t believe I was doing it any other way. And if you catch my stories, I curated a mixed bag of TikToks.
