Friends,
Can I confess something to you? It took me five months to finally send the mail I was carrying around tucked between the pages of my planner. Whenever I saw a mailbox, I didn’t have my mail, and whenever I had my mail, I didn’t have a mailbox. And okay, I forgot about it for a while, too.
Well, finally, this past Thursday, the belated (June) birthday card, postcards from February, a check to the IRS due back in April, and notes to friends went out into the world. If you’re not part of this push, don’t worry. A secondary batch of small packages is screaming at me from a prepared tote bag, and I swear I’ll find my way to the post office soon. Maybe it’s ADHD at its finest, or maybe I consider delays all part of the timeline. Things will arrive when they arrive.
So speaking of, if anything has come up recently that’s an old score to be settled, make no mistake: it’s showing up for a reason. What we leave untouched usually finds its way to the surface again. It’s a gentle reminder to handle it while we have the courtesy of ritual and structure until Libra season shakes us up again.
In other very important news, I got new and additional artwork for The Double Text! Since I got a bunch more plants and a haircut over the summer, the hero image on my welcome post now reflects this update, and I also got new banners and logos. Thank you, Annie!! I am obsessed with the Lizzie McGuire feel.
Now, here’s your double text—

At home with Tony Danza By Addie Morfoot and Photography by Stefano Ukmar. You know, at first, I was shocked; surely, I thought Tony would have a more significant level of interior design. The second time I scanned through the obnoxious interface of this article, I thought — No, this is right for Mr. Danza. This is exactly right.

Just arrived, and on the top of my pile of books is Julia Fox’s new memoir, Down the Drain.
It’s sold out at the moment, but DEAR LOVE by Sarah Bahbah is a fabulous flip-through. h/t to my neighbor who told me about this work of art of a book that is described as A LUXURY FINE ART BOOK FEATURING A DECADE OF PHOTOGRAPHY AND AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL STORYTELLING.
The third time I heard about this book was at a Memoiring event — Liars by Sarah Manguso. It's on its way to me now; let me know if you get it!
Btw in case anyone wants to chat — I am current on CHIMP CRAZY AND TELL ME LIES. I’ve dropped this season of LIB (UK) because I couldn’t connect.
Industry - Season One
Okay wait and add to my list — INDUSTRY. I’ve recently seen the pilot, and now, suddenly, so many people are talking about this show. It feels like it’s going to be a fast one so let me know if you start so we can also discuss. I slept on GIRLS. Did I sleep on another Lena Dunham (she directs) moment?
Black Friday (pretty like the sun)
By Lost Frequencies and Tom Odell is a vibe. New York, listen to this while you’re driving up the West Side Highway and out of town. LA, this is a must if you’re winding all the way East to West down Sunset Boulevard. Windows down.
