Friends,
As my thumb flicked in an upward motion to another and then another, and then another TikTok video, I knew I was circling the drain of this bedtime practice. I’d already seen everything on the internet for the day, and hitting the dopamine button right before bed is/was a tragic way to drift into twilight. I had to stop — and sleep.
Virgo season asks us to redefine our priorities, so if your inner monologue is on a loop (like mine) and asking a lot of “What do you want?” and “How are you gonna get it?” type questions, you’re not losing it; you’re trying to find it.
Your time is your most precious and expensive currency, so lean into time affluence and put your to-do list on your calendar to make sure it gets done. Mindfulness is important here, and if it’s not going to serve you in the long run — may I remind you that “No” is a complete sentence. Proofread more than once, and ask for extra eyes for reassurance. Do your best to prioritize returning calls, texts, and emails, even if they’re long overdue. Don’t hesitate to move on from anything you know that isn’t serving you — you don’t need me to tell you we are the amalgamation of all we surround ourselves with.
Now, here’s your double text for the week—

Bianca by Eugenia Leigh. I snagged this poetry collection after hearing Eugenia speak at an event a few months ago, and lemme tell you, her powerful stage presence comes through her text and grabs hold of your soul. If you want to feel, don’t miss this.
N/A The Play
The house adjourns on September 1st, but grab a ticket if you can. It was a privilege to see these two women on the stage in such an intimate theater—a necessary watch if you care about our democracy.

Another comfort film as we get ready for fall. And everything we know so far about the second installment.
See you next week! And please share this newsletter with anyone you think would enjoy reading it.
